Surf City Haiti!

Surf City Haiti took place June 12-16. We had great weather and we were thrilled to see the smiles on all 230 of the kids’ faces. They came from EBAC, IDADEE, New Vision Children’s Home, and the surrounding community. The most exciting part of this year’s camp experience was that the older Haitian children were ready to take on even more responsibility than last year.  In addition to leading worship, they also assumed leadership roles in planning and executing camp. This has been our vision all along…to empower kids to become leaders. Between our staff and North Way Christian Community’s volunteers, we had 43 Americans there to assist. We were pleased to move into more of a role of assistance as we saw God work in the lives of these leaders who were once at-risk orphans themselves. God is good!
